Diego Echeverría
Chief Financial Officer
Diego was born in Santiago in 1984, as the youngest son of Roberto and Gloria Echeverría. His childhood memories include non-stop weekend trips to the winery in Molina, in which he accompained his father during its transformation. His holidays were spent helping to direct construction workers and giving his opinion on the final positioning of the new tanks that his father bought to team up with the old oak tanks that give so much character to Echeverría wines.
As Diego grew up, soccer and music became major passions in his life. He never reached a pro status, but had a short stint in New Zealand amateur club Queenstown Rovers back in 2006. Diego also loves music, having perfomed on stage in several birthday parties and small venues in Bellavista. His band The Carbones claims to perform the best Strokes’ covers around the world. He also has recorded several original pieces, and claims Joy Division, The Verve, Sigur Ros, Wilco, Yo la Tengo, Blur and Oasis as his biggest influences.
In 2009 Diego graduated from the Universidad Catolica and joined the banking industry, in which he remained for almost five years until applying to McGill University in 2013 to pursue further studies in finance.
Diego joined the Echeverría team in 2015 and provides key support in one of the most complex aspects of running a winery. As part of the Echeverría family, he also loves to travel around the world sharing his experiences, meeting customers and talking about wine, especially when he travels with his brother Roberto Jr!
Salud y musica!
